The Bolands

The Bolands are the descendants of two branches of the Ó Beólláin,who were located in County Clare, Ireland on the banks of Lough Derg; the other branch established at Doonalton, County Sligo, Ireland. The latter became erenaghs (hereditary lay holders of an abbacy or some ecclesiastical property) of the Church of St.Columban at Drumcliffe.A lineage can be traced to a brother of Brian Boru.
